Although none of our Werther’s Original products contain nuts in their recipes and we take the utmost care during production but it is not possible to buy all raw materials with a nuts free guarantee and therefore we also cannot guarantee that they are absolutely nut free.

All our products are packaged in a way that provides the best protection from the environment. Always store them in a cool, dry place away from strong odors, once the packs are opened.

Alcohol is not an ingredient of the various Werther’s Original products. However, some flavorings may contain alcohol as they can only be extracted with the aid of alcohol and therefore come into contact with alcohol in the course of the extraction process. The volume of alcohol that reaches the end product in this way is roughly equivalent to the volume of alcohol that ordinary fruit juices contain due to the natural fermentation of the fruit.

Absolutely! Werther’s Original Soft Caramels and Chewy Caramels are ideal for baking. Just melt on medium low heat, add a little milk or cream until you get the consistency you want. They are perfect for dipping, pouring, drizzling, or snacking!

We would not suggest eating any product that is past its expiration date. Once the product is on the shelf at your local retailer, we no longer have control over how it is stored during times of heat and humidity and other changes in temperature. We do not know how often the store rotates its stock.

The primary sugar substitute used is Isomalt and the artificial sweetener used is Acesulfame – K (ace-k). The acesulfame K does not contain aspertame. Therefore, there is no aspartame in Werther’s Original Sugar Free Caramels. In addition, our product includes sucralose.

Werther’s Original Sugar Free Caramels have 15 calories per serving.

Each piece of Werther’s Original Sugar Free has about 3g of carbs. The serving size of Werther’s Original Sugar Free is 1-2 pieces (5g) and the carb amount per serving is 4-5g depending on the flavour. We recommend checking the nutritional information on the back of the package.

These caramels contain Isomalt, a common ingredient found in most Sugar Free candies, and you will find this same laxative warning printed on most Sugar Free candy products. There is not a defined amount of candy that can be consumed before you will feel any ill effects & some consumers do not have any side effects. The laxative effect is determined by how your individual body reacts to this kind of ingredient.

Yes, the recipe for Werther’s Original Sugar Free sweets replaces the sugar in our standard Werther’s Original recipe with the artificial sweeteners isomalt and acesulfame-K. These artificial sweeteners dissolve in the mouth at a much slower rate than sugar, so although smaller, the sugar free sweets last as long as the bigger sweets.
